Fall Decorating Ideas and More about Color Schemes

It’s been so much fun seeing the results from my Fall Quiz! If you haven’t taken it yet, you can find it here: https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5f3c5eea210e6d001479ac64

I created four fall color palettes and designed the quiz to help you discover your favorite fall color scheme. The options are “Nice and Neutral”, “Ravishing Red”, “Gorgeous Green”, and “Perfectly Plum.” I have Pinterest boards with great decorating ideas for each color palette and also suggestions for furniture and accessories. Look for Laura Gossett Interior Design on Pinterest. https://www.pinterest.com/lauragossett0399/_saved/

I was actually surprised by my own results! Turns out I’m a traditionalist at heart when it comes to holidays. My own fall decor leans towards “Ravishing Red” even though my general color schemes are usually neutral. The great thing about having a neutral color scheme in your home is that you can pair any other colors with it and change things out easily. I honestly like all of the palettes so don’t feel you have to limit yourself to just one!

I created this tablescape using a paisley runner as the base. I wove a piece of garland with leaves and glass beads through this iron pumpkin that I got at Walmart several years ago. You never know where you might find something you love at a great price! I added layers of floral stems with berries, pine cones, and acorns to create a full design. I love the look of tablescapes that stretch the length of the dining room table. I added some beaded votive candleholders because candlelight makes every table special.

There’s a lot to be said for keeping things simple! Just a few small touches can make your home feel festive. I added some fall leaves to this container that was already in my dining room. I tend to focus on decorating the dining room since that’s the central gathering spot for our fall get togethers. This year everything is a bit different of course and I’m not sure what the plans will be. I decided it would still be fun to go ahead and decorate. Honestly, most of us want some kind of change of scene after being home for so long!

I did make a few purchases this year. My favorite find are these adorable acorn salt and pepper shakers!

I also purchased a fun new pillow and I’m waiting for it to arrive. It just made me smile! Truth be told, I ordered some fall pillows in the green color family but they looked more like spring colors than fall. Back to my nice and neutral for the win.

I created a table scape for a local magazine in the Gorgeous Green Palette and I love the way it turned out! The base of the centerpiece is a beautiful blue green ceramic tray. White pumpkins are on trend and I combined those with some unexpected elements such as mini bird nests and feather balls to add interest and texture.

Tin tiles serve as chargers on top of the woven fringed placemats. Vintage glassware adds another touch of green. Beaded pumpkin napkin holders are a fun touch!

I would love to hear how you decorate for fall! Post a comment and tell me about your favorite fall finds.

Blessings,

Laura
