What’s one of the easiest ways to make a big change in your kitchen and bath design? Paint those dated cabinets!
When we moved into our home several years ago, the cabinets were white and the countertops were green laminate. We eventually changed the countertops and I antiqued the white cabinets. I enjoyed this design for several years, but when it came time to paint the cabinets again, I wanted a new look. We painted the cabinets with a semi-gloss paint in Benjamin Moore Grant Beige.
The paint finish is very durable and the color makes the kitchen look more current. A few small changes to the window treatments and furnishings freshen up the space.
Many of us do not have the luxury of starting from scratch when we are designing our spaces. You might not be in your “forever home” so you may not want to make a large investment right now. You may need to change the look of your space in stages due to time or budget constraints.
Some of my wonderful clients are planning to live in their home for a few more years before downsizing. They want to enjoy their space now and also create value for resale. Working with the existing countertops and backsplash, I chose Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige for the cabinets.
It’s amazing how much lighter and brighter the space feels! It’s important to choose the right color that will work with your existing finishes.
Have a beautiful day,
Laura
